The morning game drives offers the unique experience of an early wake up (tea/coffee available before departure on the boardwalk) and yet returning to the hotel in time to enjoy the full breakfast on offer. Entering through Kruger Gate on your right is a large statue of Pres. Paul Kruger of the Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek, who far-sightedly set aside this vast area that future generations might know Africa in its original state. It was 1898 when the now southern section of the Kruger Park became known as the Sabi Game Reserve and was gazetted as a nature reserve and this makes it the second oldest formally conserved area in Africa. By 1926 various other tracks of land where added and since has basically maintained it’s current size of approximately 20 000km² in extent and it’s name as the Kruger National Park. The statue was unveiled in its current position on the 16 September 1976 and was created by sculptor Coert Steynberg.

SDMA – AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE INTO THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

An opportunity to cover a small area of renowned Kruger National Park, which covers a distance of approx. 380 km from the Limpopo River in the north to the Crocodile River in the south. The vegetation is mainly bushveld, varying from park-like grasslands to dense bush, especially in the rainfall season. There are many opportunities for you to capture your experiences of the mammals, birds, reptiles, flora and African sunsets on camera. Return to the hotel with time to freshen up before dinner.

SDMK – KRUGER NATIONAL PARK NIGHT DRIVE

You are collected by a SANParks operated open safari vehicle at the hotel, from where you will enter via Kruger Gate into the park shortly before gate closing time. Although not a personalized experienced, a qualified guide will give you an accessible experience of nature in the early evening. An opportunity to see the elusive nocturnal hunters beginning their nightly forays. Game viewing is experienced through the use of spotlights and strict instructions on how to use these are given by your guide. Return to the hotel in time for the full dinner experience offered by your accommodation establishment.

SDMD – FULL DAY GAME DRIVE INTO THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

A full day game drive offers the opportunity to cover a little more territory in an open safari vehicle with a professional and qualified nature guide (tea/coffee available before departure on the boardwalk). The world famous Kruger National Park is approximately 20 000km² in extent and you will have the opportunity to traverse the southern section of the game reserve entering at the Kruger Gate. The park is unrivalled in its diversity of flora and fauna – 2000 different forms of vegetation sustain an unmatched richness of wildlife: 146 species of mammals, over 490 different kinds of birds, 114 species of reptiles, 49 kinds of freshwater fish, 33 species of amphibians and innumerable insects and other forms of life – many of them found nowhere else.

You can arrange breakfast packs the previous evening with the hotel reception. Stops en route at rest camps/spots are made, any meals en route not included. Return to hotel early afternoon.
